11 Pampanga hospitals now VMMC partners
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Veterans and their dependents can now avail of medical and hospital services from 11 provincial and district hospitals in Pampanga as the Department of National Defense and the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) and the provincial government have entered into an agreement where veterans can refund certain hospital expenses with the VMMC.
VMCC Medical Professional Staff Dr. Dominador Chiong, Jr. said the program aims to address the health care needs of veterans and their qualified dependents who do not have convenient access to VMMC and provide partial subsidy for the hospitalization expenses and reimbursement of certain select procedures and additional benefits.
Living World War II veterans, Armed Forces of the Philippines retirees and former members of the Philippine Constabulary and their dependents are covered in the program, added Chiong.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Jose Antonio Rivera said that the Capitol will put up a veterans ward in the 11 provincial and district hospitals and train nurses that will coordinate with the beneficiaries.
According to Chiong, the veterans and their dependents will be able to refund certain expenses following application procedures.
