CL cops create 88 reformation centers
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Police Regional Office III in Camp Olivas has established some 88 “Bahay Pagbabago” or reformation centers in Central Luzon for drug users and pushers during the first 100 days of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Deputy Chief of Regional Operations Division PSupt. Donato Bait said that the centers offer moral recovery programs and skills training for drug surrenderees.
“They provide an alternate course of action towards suspected drug users and pushers who voluntarily submitted themselves wherein they will be treated as residents not as law offenders,” Bait said.
Bait added that they have conducted 2,293 operations from July to September this year which resulted in the arrest of 1,057 users and 2,349 pushers.
“We have also confiscated 33.2 kilos of shabu, 43.6 kilos of marijuana, and 2.46 kilos of cocaine with an estimated value of P10- million plus 41 high-powered and 282 low-powered firearms,” he furthered.
Bait said that 59 additional reformation centers are being constructed and will be completed soon.
