Clark, Subic welcome railway development
CLARK FREEPORT — The plan to put up a railway that will connect Clark Freeport and Subic Bay is a welcome development.
Noel Tulabut, head of the Clark Development Corporation Communications Department, said that project “presents once again the government’s firm resolve to develop further the two former US military bases which have become the engines of growth in Central Luzon.”
“Having more avenues for access, transportation, and logistics such as the proposed railway will bring about greater progress,” Tulabut said.
Martin Diño, the newly appointed chairman of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), earlier revealed the construction of a bullet train would be under the Public-Private Partnership with a firm in China.
Diño said this project would be discussed during the trade and investment mission to China led by President Rodrigo Duterte himself later this month.
According to Diño, the bullet train will connect Subic and Clark and vice versa spanning 60 kilometers.
