October 10, 21 declared special holidays in Angeles
ANGELES CITY — President Rodrigo Duterte has declared October 10 and 21 special non-working holidays here in celebration of the city’s “Fiestang Kuliat” and the Tigtigan Terakan Keng Daan street festival, which symbolizes the resiliency of the Angeleños after the eruption of Mount Pinatubo.
Proclamation Number 66, which was signed by Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea, stated that Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan requested the Office of the President to declare the dates as holidays in order for the people of Angeles City to celebrate and participated in the event.
The Fiestang Kuliat 2016 committee, chaired by Clark International Airport Corporation president Alexander Cauguiran, has lined up several religious, cultural, and social activities during the month-long fiesta celebration.
Cauguiran said that more than 1,000 personnel from the Philippine National Police, Philippine Air Force, and other law enforcement agencies will secure the Tigtigan Terakan Keng Dalan, the trademark street party of the celebration.
The committee also announced the search for the Ginoo and Mutya ning Angeles on October 27, 6 pm at the Grand Palazzo Royale.
